Chunghwa Telecom to Launch LTE Services in July

Taiwanese telecom operator Chunghwa Telecom plans to launch 4G LTE (Long-Term Evolution) services in July, earlier than the original fourth-quarter debut, aiming to lure more than 300,000 4G subscribers by year-end 2014, according to Taiwan's Economic Daily News on February 13. The operator's strategy includes cooperating with equipment vendors, such as Unizyx and D-Link, and participating in the set-up of 4G and 5G trial networks. Meanwhile, the company also sets goals to boost its subscribers of mobile network subscribers, from 3.9 million to 5 million, in 2014.
